We hope you are all having a pleasant week so far but we are about to make it even better!

On Saturday at 11am Castle Auctions Limassol will have its first auction of September 2017, and boy is LOT Number 1 a doozy!

On the 2^nd September Castle Auction Limassol will be auctioning this stunning Original Oil Painting by the well known Cypriot Artist Andreas Makariou.

The painting depicts a Rural Cypriot Hillside Village from a bygone era. The painting measures at 177cm x 80cm and is quite decoratively framed.

The artist Andreas Makariou was born in Letymbou Village in 1955 in the Paphos Area. He studied at the Surikov Academy of Fine Arts in Moscow during the 1970s. He was the Director for Cultural Services of the Paphos Municipality from 1987 to 1993 and since 2007 he is the Director of the Pegasus Art Foundation in Limassol.

Though he mainly exhibits in Cyprus, his paintings have been displayed and sold around the world in countries like the USA, Greece, Egypt, Bulgaria and many more.

The painting being auctioned is one of his earlier works and is distinct from his main genre of work which is of the Transavantgarde or Neo-Expressionist style of art so this is a very rare and unique opportunity for any art collector or enthusiast.

The auction starts at 11am and are catalogue will be available on Wednesday 30^th August.

Το Σάββατο, 2 Σεπτεμβρίου στο Castle Auction της Λεμεσου θα διεξαχθεί δημοπρασία όπου θα δημοπρατηθεί πίνακας απο τον γνωστόν κύπριο ζωγράφο Ανδρέα Μακαρίου.

Ο πίνακας απεικονίζει ένα Κυπριακό χωριό παλιάς εποχής.

Ο πίνακας έχει διαστάσης 177cm x 80cm και είναι μέσα σε διπλή κορνίζα.

Ο ζωγράφος Ανδρέα Μακαρίου γεννήθηκε στο χωριό Λετύμβου το 1955 στην περιοχή Πάφου. Σπούδασε στη Σχολή Καλών Τεχνών Ζούρικωφ της Μόσχας από το 1975 έως το 1979. Διετέλεσε Διευθυντής τον Πολιτιστικών Υπηρεσιών του Δήμου Πάφου από το 1987 έως το 1993 και από το 2007 ειναι ο Διευθυντής στο  Ίδρυμα Τεχνών Πήγασος.

Αν και εκθέτει κυρίως στην Κύπρο, τα έργα του έχουν εκθέτει σε όλο τον κόσμο σε χώρες όπως τις Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες, Ελλάδα, Αίγυπτος, Βουλγαρία και πολλές άλλες.

Ο πίνακας που δημοπρατείται είναι ένα από τα παλαιότερα του έργα και διαφέρει από το κύριο είδος τέχνης του που είναι το Transavantgarde ή Neo-Expressionist στυλ, έτσι είναι μια πολύ σπάνια και μοναδική ευκαιρία να αποκτηθεί από εναν συλλέκτη ή ενθουσιώδη καλλιτέχνη.

Η δημοπρασία αρχίζει στις 11 π.μ. και ο κατάλογος θα είναι διαθέσιμος την Τετάρτη 30 Αυγούστου.
